One of the earliest well known figures in British history, King Cnut, was married to the 'lady of Northampton' Aelfgifu, who owned lands in Rockingham Forest, as did his second wife Emma. Cnut owned this manor and visited Nassington some time after 1016 with his entire court. This, the oldest manor in the county will be open for tours in the afternoon, with afternoon tea served from 15.00.
